HIGHEST FIVE VOL.94
Satisfy Heat, On's Squad Race, some leaks and what else is hot right now...
Hi y’all,
the newsletter is back! Things do not change all too fast, so the main vibe is “we’re pretty” busy again. We’ve been racing, we travelled for work and vacation, we worked with brands, worked on own stuff, we organized our very first local trail race, we plan another one, registered for OCC and so on. Sounds busy? Yeah, i’s call id passionate business things. Thing we love but still are work.
The next weeks stay kinda busy, especially with Paris Fashion Week coming up. I’ll be in town MO-FR, so if you wanna connect, feel free to drop a line (info@runnershighest.com). I wanna take it a bit slower this time to actually enjoy Paris a bit more. And then it’s almost summer holidays and then…. it’s f*ckin’ UTMB week. I’m running OCC and it still feels unreal. Also, i’m trying to get my mileage and elevation back up again, as said before, 2026 so far has way less miles then the last years and gave me less space to trail run especially. 15% incline sessions on the treadmill i can hear you already.
See you somewhere and now please enjoy the (almost) weekly dose of what’s currently hot in running right now:
1 Runners Highest at the On Squad Race Berlin
Quite some time ago, On have reached out to ask Runners Highest to participate in their global Squad Race series - groups of 4 compete against each other in a fast-paced and strategical relay race all over the world, with a final taking place in Los Angeles. The winners of each of the races get invited and flown over to the US to race against the winner teams of all other markets.
Sounds cool? It was! Team RH was in it to have fun and squeeze out some seconds on a tricky, tight 290m course with up’s and downs in Berlin’s iconic Kant Garagen. In the end we didn’t make the podium but overall had an insane weekend in Berlin with the crew. Friday night’s dinner with Ante Berlin may not be forgotten in this recap - what a set up this was. Just outstanding.
So check out the recap post below and wait for the LA World final very soon!
2 SATISFY HeatCrush
Satisfy unvealed and released their latest fabric which is called "HeatCrush". It's said (and test-backed) to drop temperature by 8 degrees Celsius.
"HeatCrush™ cools your body using your own sweat. When perspiration contacts this performance mesh and micro-jersey developed in Japan, it begins to draw heat away from the surface. As airflow increases with motion, the cooling effect deepens. The response scales with effort." Available here.
3 10 collabs you’ve already forgotten but you shouldn’t have
My sometimes nerdy collector background is responsible for stuff like this. I realized i followed running x fashion collabs for quite some time so i thought, I’d do a little round up of stuff i remembered from “back in the days”, sometimes 10+ years ago. People liked it and commented many more, so i guess we’ll do that again some day.
4 Saysky x Speedland
Honestly, I’ve never been too sure what to make of Speedland. Never ran their shoes, never really seen them somewhere outside of the US. But recently (in Portland) i ran by a massive Speedland billboard that made me stop for a moment to take a pic. When Saysky reached out and offered a test pair of their upcoming collab, i obviously was on board and I’m really curious to check it out further. Adding and removing a carbon plate could be such an insane tool, not gonna lie. Expected delivery end of July.
5 collected Hoka leaks
Sounds weird, but recently I’ve seen quite a number of leaks/teasers of (mostly) upcoming Hoka shoes, at least I’m certain of the lifestyle models and the Tecton X4. Ludo’s Rocket X 3 in white is insane but may “only” be a prototype, same for the Tecton X2 (rip).
6 Currently “in the lab” at Runners Highest: Raide 5L vest
We’re currently testing the very first vest by Raide and the first impression is a good one. Spacious, well-thought strap system to not let the stuff bounce, 2x600ml is massive for a heavy runner like me. Haven’t done very long runs but will do soon and tell you. I’m curious how the buttons in the inside of the bag will hold together, when you use it for the poles and other stuff.
